Emma Krieg

Hi, I'm Emma.

I grew up speaking Swedish and have spent years helping English speakers actually enjoy learning it — not just survive it.

My approach is simple: start with what you'll actually say. Build confidence fast. Then layer in the grammar once you're no longer afraid of your own voice.

I wrote the Just Try Swedish guide because I was tired of watching people quit before they got started. This site is the next step.

Before you join

The group classes and beginner course are designed for absolute beginners — no prior knowledge needed. If you have some Swedish already, get in touch and Emma will recommend the right entry point.
Maximum 6 students per session. This is intentionally small — everyone gets speaking time every class, and Emma can give real attention to each person. It's not a webinar.
The monthly membership is ongoing — you join weekly classes at whatever level is running. The 8-week Beginner Course is a fixed cohort: the same group of students goes through a structured A1 curriculum together from start to finish. The course gives more continuity and a stronger group dynamic.
Not at all — many students stay group-only and make great progress. Private lessons are for people who want to move faster, work on something specific (like pronunciation or work vocabulary), or who have a deadline like a trip or a Swedish partner's family dinner.
Yes — cancel anytime before the next billing date. You can also pause for up to 4 weeks if life gets in the way. Just send Emma a message.
Class schedules are published when a new cohort or membership cycle opens. Emma runs sessions across multiple time zones. Join the waitlist to get notified of upcoming class times.
